ATTN: Digital marketers and webmasters, storefronts and restaurants need our help
My next-door neighbor owns a restaurant, and one of my best friends manages a storefront. The COVID-19 pandemic in the United States is currently crushing their businesses.
Their only option right now is to have an online presence that can serve customers, and they need our help.
They don’t need to be your new client. They don’t have money to pay you. They do need you to help their small business stay alive. This is a moment for altruism, not opportunity.
I’ve put together some ways you can help.
How to help storefronts
- Walk them through the process of getting on Shopify or WooCommerce
- Using the ecommerce platform’s add-ons, connect their store to sales channels like Google Shopping, Facebook, Amazon, and eBay
- Help them create paid marketing campaigns and make fiscally sound decisions
- Help them properly promote their products and services on social media
- Help them set up email campaigns with announcements and special deals
How to help restaurants
- Encourage and help them to get set up with Grubhub, DoorDash, UberEats, Postmates, and any other reliable food delivery service in their area if they aren’t already
- Help them configure and properly utilize Google My Business
- Help them create or update and optimize their website for search and conversions
- Get them added to Give Local where patrons purchase gift cards, and also Order’s Up where patrons buy meals for those who are food insecure
- Help them set up email campaigns with announcements and special deals
What I listed is hardly complete, so if you have additional ideas about how digital marketers and webmasters can help, please contact me.
